The Series is Safe!

The Series is Safe!

With our win yesterday, we ensured that we won this series, and kept our good record intact. Many thought that with the loss through injury of Shane Watson, Shaun Tait and Michael Hussey, we would struggle to hold off the rampant Indians who had just become World Twenty20 champions. But that was not to be! The rest of the squad just powered up and we now hold an unbeatable 4- 1 lead with only one match to play.

Hasn't this been a wonderful series for Andrew Symonds, Matty Hayden, Brad Hogg and Mitchell Johnson? In fact, it is probably unfair to single any of the players out, as everyone has contributed to our victories. Ricky's leadership has again been exemplary and every fielder, batter and bowler has been fantastic. I have even managed to get some runs in the last couple of games, and that is really pleasing.

Now it's on to Mumbai for the final game in this series, and for another chance to meet the Indian young guns in a Twenty20 match. We want revenge!

Our home series against Sri Lanka, and then against these Indians, are beginning to become a little more prominent in our minds, and it will be most interesting to see what the selectors do about our team. Of immense interest will be the battles for places as quick bowlers, as spinner to replace Warnie, and as opening batsman to replace Justin Langer.

It promises to be a great season of attacking and entertaining cricket.
